Postdoctoral Position in Ocean Biogeochemical Modeling at UCLA The Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Science at UCLA invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher in Ocean Biogeochemical Modeling. The project aims to improve the understanding of oxygen and nutrient cycles in the ocean, and their interactions with climate. Areas of particular interest include climate influences on oceanic oxygen variability and diverse microbial nitrogen cycle processes in low-oxygen zones. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences or a related field, and effective oral and written communication skills. Experience with numerical modeling is advantageous. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and interdisciplinary research group engaged in the development and application of Earth System Models to questions in biogeochemistry, ecology, and climate. Applicants should submit a CV, a brief statement of research interests and goals, and contact information for at least 3 references to Prof. Curtis Deutsch (cdeutsch@atmos.ucla.edu). Review of applications will begin as soon as they are received, and continue until the position is filled. The position is available immediately, though starting date is negotiable.
