Spray and Particle Flow Modeling for Automotive Applications
Want to learn more about using CFD for your particle flow and spray simulations? Then join Fluent for a one hour online event and learn about the basic background of the CFD models involved in spray modeling, examine test validation results and come away with useful tips and tricks for creating your own simulations. Topics of interest: -liquid injection and atomization -particle erosion modeling -particle separation in cyclone devices
Date: May 18, 2006
Organizer: Fluent Inc.
Application Areas: Automotive
Softwares: FLUENT
Type of Event: Online Event, International

Your presenter: Yong Yi, PhD

Dr. Yi joined Fluent Inc. in 2002, after completing his
PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Working at the
Engine Research Center under Professor Rolf Reitz, his
research focused on the spray and mixing processes and
their influences on combustion and emissions in diesel
engines. During this work he developed a 1-D jet primary
breakup model and multi-component high-pressure
evaporation model. His previous education includes a
master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Florida
International University, a master’s in Power Engineering
from Chongqing University, and bachelor’s degree in
Aerospace Engineering from Nanjing University of
Aeronautics and Astronautics. While in China, he also
served as a college instructor for three years.
