A few ideas for blocking in this case? ( tube submerge in cylinder)

Hi everyone!

I have a dual fluidized bed project with CFD simulation ( 2D simulation done!).

and now is 3D. This is my case ( this tube is downcomer from cyclone)

My ICEM files :http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?mtatpynzozwnmie

thanks !

Something like this. Сan you attach a geometry file?

Thank you so much!

Can you attach the block file?

p/s: About the full geometry file, Sorry I can't post because this project is confidential:o

Ok! :) But I don't understand the geometry of the tube. The tube have 3 independent flows, separated by a thin walls?

Far May 2, 2012 06:36

create another o-grid around the pipe to better control the quality.

I don't understand your mean! It's just a tube ( redirect at the bottom) that discharge material into cyclone. The surface of tube is set as wall when export to Fluent:)

You mean o-grid 4 blocks outside of pipe?

Why then need 3 o-grids for the tube (inside tube)? Just one o-grid.

yes, it is. By moving the vertices things will be much better(can be done at latter stages when topology is freezed).

PSYMN May 3, 2012 09:35

Ralen's first topology is good...

But his second one is not what Far was talking about... Don't split the Ogrid on the outer pipe, split the Ogrid for the inner pipe...

Actually, when you first make that inner ogrid, set it up for being a bit larger than the inner pipe (so it is half outside and half inside the pipe)... Then split that Ogrid and project the middle to the pipe...

This way you will have aligned layers both inside and outside your inner pipe...
