Is always finer mesh got better result?

Hi everyone,

I try to simulate the effect of surface roughness in duct flow. I am using realizable k-e with enhanced wall treatment. Is always finer mesh got better result? I read fluent manul, y+ should be ~1. Is this arcurate if wall mesh are very fine (that said y+~0.1)? I don't consider the compute time and memory.

thanks

sometimes it introduces the errors in the solution for very fine near wall mesh nodes. check out the notes by F. mentor available on ANSYS website.
