Hi,
I used Revolve Faces in Gambit for generating the fluid domain of very thin groove plate. While I am generating the mesh, I got several warnings and errors. I used "359.99" for angle of face and draft:angle "30" (default) and "extended" "with mesh" option. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Command> volume create revolve "face 1" dangle 359.9 vector 0 0 1 origin 0 0 0 draft \ 30 extended withmesh Error: ACIS 31000 coedge on parametric surface with no pcurve Error: ACIS 31000 coedge on parametric surface with no pcurve Error: Edge dege 1539 has effectively zero length(0.0000000000000+000) and is therefore corrupt. Error: An interval size of 0.000000 cannot be set on edge edge 1539 Interval sizes must be greater than geometric tolerances. Error: Edge edge 1544 has effectively zero length(0.0000000000000+000) and is therefore corrupt. Error: An interval size of 0.000000 cannot be set on edge edge 1539 Interval sizes must be greater than geometric tolerances. Created volume 1 Warn: Problematic geometry reported for volume volume 1 Warn: There are output entities with badly checking geometry Warn: cannot sweep/revolve mesh from face face 1 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++ I checked Revolve Faces Command but, no specific angles were given. I gave 3 interval counts on each edge but I do not know why it is telling an interval size. What should I check? If I want to make a thin groove plate mesh, what might be the best angle values for each? What is the difference between "extended" and "round"? Thanks Best regards |

can you post a sketch of the face you want to revolve
what is the reason for 359° angle, and not 360°

Hi, mAx
If I input 360 angle, it gives error code in the title. Error: ACIS error 95032 : Specified start and end point coincident Either option (Extended or Round) does not make any mesh but make a volume. I attached 1 face with face meshes which should be revolved in z axis around 360 degrees. Please help me. Thanks |

Only volume is generated.
I need a 2D mesh to be revolved and result in a 3D mesh. How can I do that operation? |

Sorry for not updating my page causing that I posted another reply.
Here is the picture. Upper one is the left side which is an axis of rotation. Middle one is the far away view. Bottom one is the right side which is enclosing the face. Very thin surface (which has divided by 2) with grooves (2 by 2 suface meshes) as well as enclosing ambient surface at the right side can be seen. Thanks for your help, Regards |

ok
in the revolve surface panel, just pick your face and give 90° as angle (don't enable mesh option) once the volume is generated, you can go and mesh it. Gambit will automatically select hex/wedge schema. Now you have a quarter, if you need full model, you may play with reflection

Thanks for your help sincerely
Mesh size is huge when I made a full geometry. Over 500MB..... I need to cut down on some of geometry of mine. With mesh option has a tricky facet. |
