Perforated plate distributor

Dear Friends I am modeling a 2D fluidized bed reactor and I would like to create a perforated plate distributor in the geometry using Gambit. However I do not know how to about it. Kindly help!Attachment 14136

do you want your flow entering directly from holes, or do you want an upstream flow with shrinkage at holes?
what is the dimensions of your perforated plate?

Hi Max, yes I want the flow to enter directly from the holes. The fluidized bed has 150 mm inner diameter and 1000 mm height. The perforated gas distributor has a pore diameter of 2.0 mm and an open area ratio of 2.6 %.

In 3D for keeping the 2.6% open ratio you need 145 holes with ø2mm.
What would be your geometry in 2d?

I have no idea max. I will be grateful for your help.

I would handle the problem in 3d, and use 2 symmetry-planes (quarter)
