Hello,

Is it possible to import simple edge boundary from icem into fluent in more complex 3D model?

I've defined part called CentreLine which I wanted to be interior/axis edge to check the flow on a plot, but after exporting mesh I get only surface zones as boundary conditions and internal part in fluent there's no word about my centreline curve there.

Thank you diamondx for your reply, I'll try to solve it in a different way.

Have a nice day.

you will have to use clip surface in fluent during the post-processing. back in the time when i wanted to do like you, i already had a case file with the clip surface used by somebody. i couldn't finish my investigation on how he did it. But almost sure it's what you need. I'll be happy if you can post a method if you ever found out how. Thank you in advance

Well, my geometry isn't that complex. So what I did was to create points in ICEMcfd to create a 'track' of my line, then I've measured their exact position (x,y,z) with measure distance tool.
Then I've created set of lines in fluent using point dimensions, and then plot all the lines at the same plot.

For now that'll do nicely.

This is confirmation of diamondx's earlier statement.
