Dimple (Hemisphere) Meshing
can anybody help me please how to mesh a Hemisphere in Gambit or ICEM CFD? I want structured meshing but gambit is unable to do that, gambit performs tri-primitive meshing on each surface. you can take hemisphere of any dia. I can provide the geometry if anybody is willing to answer in detail.
Thanx in Advance! :) |
This is already done in this thread : http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ans...-tunnel-2.html
You can find detailed discussion, blocking strategy and relevant ICEM files here. |
Please tell me how to mesh a dimpled plate as a volume mesh in GAMBIT 2.4.6. I can provide you the file if you want it..
Trimitive Mesh are possible but why not Hex Type (Cooper). Please help me.. |
can you post some pics?

decompose each dimple into five parts. once centre square/rectangle and four side squares/rectangles.

I have done it in Pointwise/Gridgen v15 with O-H topology by separating it into 5 parts, but the problem i am facing is that when H Grid is to be made it, makes a simple straight face grid instead of following the curve of the dimple.
Any suggestions??? |
I just made an effort on sample geometry (through design modeller). Meshing was done in ICEM Hexa.

a small trick for this kind of geometries, while making geometry, make just a sector, mesh just a sector, and duplicate it...

Helped a bit, going through it.
Will post for help if any problem arises. Still thanks alot... |
