Cannot load ICEM mesh in FLUENT
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I am having problem loading my mesh from ICEM in FLUENT. I have been trying to figure out what is the problem for few days but couldnt get anywhere. I have attached all the edge to curves already. Could my mesh quality been preventing fluent from reading the mesh? The error message is "build grid: aborted due to critical error" I have attached my ICEM project and mesh file, will be very glad if someone can have a look at it. Thanks http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/6...ject1ap.th.jpg http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/4...oject1y.th.jpg cyn |
Hi,
You forgot to include the .tin in the zip file (and the .msh you gave isn't for the whole geometry) ;) Having a quick look on the picture, it seems that the upper pipe hasn't got proper association, and also you should have done a O-grid for the center pipe and do a T-junction type to join both tube meshes. |
Thanks Gweher, I have attached another zip with tin file. What do u mean by not having proper associations? I have already merged the blocks together, how else would i merge the mesh?
Also, may i know how to identified there are any ogrids in the centre pipe(from the images i attached) -im confused- Also, what do u mean by do a t-junction type? Thanks ;) |
I recall there is a tutorial provided with ICEM for quite a similar part (3D Pipe Junction Using Hexa Meshing).
Doing this tutorial will lessen your confusion. |
i have another question, I am modelling on sand removal efficiency (water enter the angled side pipe and sand/water continues to flow down the mainpipe).
I will be using eulerian multiphase in FLuent, is it neccessary to model whole pipe or just half of it?thanks |
