Periodicity

Dear all,

I have been trying to create a periodic model, as shown below

http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/7314/56197103.jpg
Uploaded with ImageShack.us

As shown, I have been asked to put low and high boundary, which is the highlighted region.

My goal is to create a periodic region of that chunk of the whole model across the global X axis.

So far, I have looked at an ANSYS documentation taken from http://www1.ansys.com/customer/conte.../120/wb_cm.pdf

There is a section on 'periodicity' at page 72. But it does not seem to help.

Can anyone suggest what should I do to make it happen?

Thanks

Muhammad

Hi,

Ansys meshing has some limitation in Periodic geometry meshing. You should have Z-axis is the vertical axis (Y-axis is vertical axis in your model). Otherwise match control will not work.

So create the local coordinate system that has vertical z-axis. Select this coordinate system in match control panel. AMP will make the periodic mesh.

Again this will not work for cutcell (assembly mesh) meshing method. for more details, refer help documentation.
