Hello All,

I am trying to find out what is the file format for the binary ICEM file with extension .uns, and have been unable to find anything after some time searching on the internet. Is this file format proprietary? Or can someone please point me to a reference which has this information?

Thanks,

You can find out about all the other files on the website because they are ASCII, but not the UNS file...

If you want, you can use one of the converters (separate executables within the ICEM CFD installation) to switch between some other format that you can mess with and the uns format.

Ok, thanks PSYMN. The feeling that I get from reading ICEM literature is that ICEM is really intended to convert its output to any other solver format, whereas the actual ICEM format isn't meant to be read directly...

Thanks

Correct... There is a converter for each output format. In some cases, you will see the output file is >100 times the size of the uns file. I have never seen it convert to a smaller file.

Best regards,

Simon
