Whenever I try to split a block, it always jumps to the left and splits it there instead. For instance if I try to split a block at the last point on an airfoil, ICEM splits it somewhere in the middle.
Ive looked in the help guide and online and have found nothing to help.

Thanks in advance

Dont use the default method (that is screen select), instead use with prescribe point.

some snap shots before and after the split will help us to locate the problem...

I selected prescribed point, then select edge. I then middle-clicked to confirm and selected the point. It then cuts halfway along the foil. If I select the same point again afterwards it will create a horizontal cut through the selected point.

If you the prescibed point after then it solves your problem? The valid procedure is to first select the edge and then select the split method >>> prescribed point.

Neither screen select then prescribed point, nor the other way round works for me. Is there a setting or something that is doing this?

i never come across such problem. May be it is screen error or some thing else. If I can take a look on your geometry to exactly tell u the problem.

Yeah, I am getting same thing. Dont know why, Simon can answer this question.
But still you adjust the blocking with move vertices command.

Thank you, Ive managed to work around it as you suggested by moving vertices.

BrolY will become famous soon enough
When you click on your edge to split it, hold on the left buttom of your mouse, and move the cursor to the point where you want to split your edge. And then, release the left buttom of your mouse.

The same problem occurs to me as well.
In my case , if I do in the following order: 1)choose split methodrescibed point, 2)choose edge, 3) choose the point, it is only successful only for the first split. If I wanna do the next split immediately, the thing becomes:after I choose the edge, a split soon shows up before i am given the chance to choose the point.
However, if you try the split in the following order, you succeed every time.
1)set split mothod to screen select, 2)choose edge, you'll be asked to locate the split, 3)set split mothod to prescribed point, 4)you can choose a point now.
This is really annoying, moving the vertices is a way but still not satisfactory for me.
i'm using ICEM 13.
