Hi ,

i have shell body , of 1 mm thickness

i want to make it sweep-able so that i can apply 'sweep-able mesh' method.

As a whole the body is not sweep-able, so i have sliced it into many parts
(to create a multi-body part) , now this is what i observe:

individually , the smaller bodies (created as a result of slice)are shown as 'sweep-able' in ANSYS Mesher, BUT when i unsupress the whole body in DM and take it to mesher , many bodies which were sweep-able individually , now have become unsweep-able.

Why is it happening and where i have to check it ..something wrong at the body-interfaces ?

Thanks

Sandeep

If the bodies are not frozen they will merge when you unsupress them. Is this the case for you?

Hard to say without having the files, can you upload an archive of the project?

PFA a word document having a picture of a multibody part

two bodies are in different colour

individually , each of the two bodies is sweepable

but when i unsupress both and generate mesh , i get this.

note that one edge seems to have collapsed at the interface which i have shown as encircled, is this the problem ? how to correct it ?

thanks & regards

Sandeep

If you upload an archive of the project it's way easier to help you. Is this the entire model? Or are there other parts connected as well? What method are you using for meshing etc..

hi ,

i am afraid , i can't upload the project for now

but to your other points :

it is not the entire model , its only a part of a shell - like body , which was imported from UniGraphics to DM

the approach i am following is to convert this shell body into sweep-able , for which i am slicing it accordingly - i intend to apply the 'sweep-able' mesh method once all smaller pieces of this whole body become sweep-able.

thanks
