Dear all,

I plan to do a GCI study as proposed by Roche. It is clear to me how this works for a structured mesh, but I have my difficulties when applying this work-through on a hybrid mesh.

I use a layer of 50 prism to resolve the boundary layer of my geometry. Further away from the geometry I use tetraeders to discretice the farfield.

How would you attack this problem in ICEMCFD, to enhance the quality by the factor 2 in each direction?

Is this a known limitation of an unstructured (hybrid) mesh or can you give me a hint?

Thank you very much in advance!

There is TCL code for ICEM for hybrid meshes for the grid convergence study. Search the forum, you will find it .

Thank you Sir for the answer.

I read a bit about ICEM scripting but I could not get any link to my problem of doing a GCI study. I also used the search function () but could not find anything related to this problem. Can you give me a hint where I might be more lucky?

Best regards!
