A beginner need a help

1 Attachment(s)
Hi every one,

I am trying to simulate a heat exchanger of a staggered arrangement via CFX, the problem is that I don't know how to determine the thickness of my model.

I would be grateful if you can help me. I am attaching an image for my model to clarify the issue.

Any comments will be appreciated.
Thanks so much.

If you have symmetry boundary conditions on both sides and one cell across the thickness it shouldn't matter for results, but for convergence I think it is convenient to have a much thinner model than what you are showing.

"For the planar mesh the extrusion should be approximately equal to the smallest element edge length in the model"
