Problem in C meshing of aerofoil
2 Attachment(s)
hi,
i am referring tutorial for aerofoil meshing given at "http://www.eng.ox.ac.uk/thermofluids/people/david-gillespie/fluids-course-work-module/wing-modelling-materials/Workbench_Tutoal_Airfoil_Adapted_for_Oxford.pdf/at_download/file" i followed each and every step from tutorial, but mesh generated by me is not same as in PDF i'm attaching expected and generated mesh please give me solution Attachment 17975 Attachment 17976ri |
may be you have associated edges to curves in wrong manner..try this famous tutorial once

Thank you for your reply but i'm working in workbench not icem, if you find anything in workbench please reply |
I think you should curve the trailing edge. And be sure that axis is exactly at the trailing edge of airfoil. Also try to divide domain different sizes.
And what is the airfoil? |
Regarding your problem
Dear Ashish
Try to unselect surface under geometry tab in modal tree. then try to view it again or if it is 2D geometry try curver mesh setup first then go for surface meshing. |
Ashish, I have the exact same problem! I'm working on a Selig S3024 aerofoil and the top quarter of the circular mesh (for the top surface) has a nice hexagonal mesh but the bottom quarter of the circular mesh (for the bottom surface) is tetrahedral and is giving me cells having very high skewness.
Have you managed to figure out how to get a good mesh for both circular quarters? |
