Design modeller problem with direction vector
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I am a begginer using ansys software, and I am trying to set up a model of a mixing tank. I have a problem in design modeller. I draw a impeller with blades at 90 deg, but now I want to have them sloped at 45 deg. I do not know how to do it. I suppose it would be possible to change the direction of the vector while executing extrude operation. Could anyone explain how to do it? I have attached my design - the green part is the blade that I want to slope. Thanks for help. |

If you want the blades to have more of a helical profile then it may be a bit more difficult. Do you have a sketch or image of the type of geometry you want? Good Luck |
try body operation -> rotate....

Thank you Crank-Shaft this solution worked. :) I wonder why have I not come up with this!
Diamondex - this option didn't work - I could not rotate the blade in a direction.... Thanks for reply. :) |
No problems, glad I could help.
Post the images of your final geometry here. I am interested to see what you managed to create. |

This is the final design of my stirred tank. I draw the blades in XY plane which allowed me to easily operate with the angle of the sketch and then extruded it in Z direction.
Another thing was appropriate meshing of the system...the area around the stirrer is the moving frame, but after long hours I managed too!:) I have to say it was kinda tricky for a begginer. Thanks again for help!!!:) |

I am relatively new to Computational simulations too and I personally would find it quite difficult to mesh. It is amazing what we can learn over time though and I wish you all the best with your work. |
UDF for measuring slug length in air-water t-junction microchannel
Can somebody assist in having a UDF for slug length in air-water T-junction microchannel.
