Having trouble meshing 3D model

So I'm trying to mesh this 3D volume(http://imgur.com/1jtOjAO). It is a room with inlets and outlets. When I try to mesh, I do a mapped face mesh on all of the walls and the inlets/outlets. Then I to a face sizing on the walls and another face sizing on the inlets/outlets because I want them to be more refined than the walls. Now when I do this, The geometry changes from a check to a check with a slash through it and the mapped face meshing turnes into a blue "stop sign" as seen here (http://imgur.com/UABKagA).
When I try and move on to setup, I get a message saying the "Model Information is incompatible with incoming mesh." Can someone help me with meshing this geometry because I am unsure what I am doing wrong? Also, if this mesh does work, does it meshing the whole volume or only the walls? Thanks in advanced for any help. |

This is possibly due to collusion of meshes. Try to delete any mesh setup and work your way out.
You can do Mapped face mesh for whole geometry and then refine mesh on walls and other areas as required. |

So what I did was right click mesh-insert-method and then I sized 0.25. Next I did a mapped face mesh on all of the inlets and outlets and did a face size to 0.1. Now does the whole volume have a mesh size of 0.25 except for the inlets and outlets?
Also, if I would've done the same thing except did mapped face mesh instead of method, would this have done the whole volume? When I do this I have to click each wall so I'm not sure if it is only doing the walls or the whole volume. I'm very inexperienced with meshing so any and all help is greatly appreciated. And if you don't mind pointing me in the right direction if possible that would be great. |

And I'm not exactly sure how you work your way from inside out. Could you please explain that a little more?
Thanks |

When I do mapped face meshing, it asks me to select the sides. So I selected all of the sides and the ceiling and floor of the room. By doing this will it mesh the volume or just the surfaces? Also, how do you mesh starting from in and working your way out? I am confused on how to do that. Thanks for the replys. |

I don't know what are the settings used for the mapped face meshing.
Try to delete the face sizings and do mapped face meshing only, if no errors occur. Add the face sizings making sure you use the correct factor values (a very small mesh size will normally result an error due to coarser mesh settings of mapped face). |

Do a mapped face meshing for the whole volume using prefered mesh (hex, tri, ..).
Then resize the area needed to be refined with face sizing making sure its not too small. If you still can't manage to get a working mesh, try to divide the geometry into 4 parts. It is a very simple geometry, I'm sure you will be able to do it. |
