Hi everyone!
I am modelling a truss spar! in the geometry stage, I put a box on top which could represent the topside. I put a cylinder under that which can play the role of the Hull of the truss spar! when I wanna assign them all as the Thin layer, I am encountering an error which says " Operation would result in illegal T surface bodies". I think it is because When I put the box on top of the cylinder, I have to make a hole in the box cylinder sharing area but I cannot do that! is there anyone out there, who has faced the same issue or know what is the solution! Thank you kindly in advance! Regards, Sal |

Thanks, I found the problem and fixed it.
When I was modelling, I modelled the cylinder as the thin/surface body and the rest were solid. then, when I wanted to convert all bodies to Thin that message came up! however, when I keep everything as the solid block and convert altogether, I had no issue with that! all good now about my modelling, but I found another issue with my load mapping! I transferred all wave loads from AQWA to Mechanic but when I wanna check for example the force reaction, I saw that my model has been broken on water line! and I got an error which says " A solver pivot warning or error has been detected in the UY degree of freedom of Node 4391 located in Hull Drag Tube. This is Usually a result of an ill condition matrix possibly due to unreasonable material properties, an under-constrained model, or contact related issues." . can you kindly please give me any advice to fix this? if you need to check my model, let me know and I will Archive and zip it and send it for you! Thanks again Kapi for your time and attention! Cheers, Sal Last edited by Sal-Perth; June 6, 2017 at 05:36. |
