improving mesh skewness

hi all,
i have resolved my previous problem and proceeded further to get the right meshing settings. however, i have some pretty sharp edges, where the tyres are in contact with the ground, which generated a pretty high skewness... i have no idea how to resolve that, any help is appreciated!! please refer to the image below for better pictorial understanding.. Ideally, remove the problematic volumes if you are not very much interested in what is happening there. That is kind of defeaturing - simplifying the geometry. In case you wish to retain the details, I would slice the problematic parts around the tyres and use Sweep & Source and Target Faces to force the mesher to fill them in with a layer of wedges.

slicing the problematic parts? how do i do this? ideally, what do you mean by slicing the parts around the tyres?

Go back to your geometry-creation software (DesignModeler or whatever you use) and create subvolumes in the sharp corners where the tyres meet the surface - that's what I mean by slicing. So you can use use, Slice, Extrude etc. (DesignModeler) to cut off these volumes. You will get a small volume in each of the corners. Then you will have a better control over the meshing process in such small volumes and you will be able to create a higher-quality mesh than what you have now.

Take a look at the picture. If you slice the domain as suggesetd, you obtain long wedges along the width of the tyres. Subsequently, you can actually sweep the volumes using wedge cells. The mesh quality will increase.

If you are new to DM and Meshing, go to the ANSYS customer portal and download the tutorials for the software. It takes some time to go through it but it is needed if you want to be able to edit your geometry and mesh. The topic is way too large to explain it in a post or two.
