Hello.
I am modeling a 2d channel in Gambit. I have a face that air enters into the model. I am defining 5 edges for boundaries like wall and pressure inlet and pressure outlet and etc. But after defining the face for air, i can not export mesh for fluent. Is that possible to define face boundary in 2d model? see attached image ( Gambit error and geometry) Thanks Last edited by flow_CH; July 12, 2013 at 01:41. |

You mean i erase two wall boundary edges and define that to pressure inlet boundary? if yes, since we are not defining the wall boundary then is the flow going out of model?

don't set any BC to internal edge.
As Far explained, assign pressure inlet to both outer edges. If you are running multiphase, you can use your air-face to initialise your vof. For that you need to assign your surface as another fluid domain

I Defined that wall edges as pressure inlet and tested 2d in my model . But in 2d i could not simulate that because every time the flow arrive that boundary, solution is converged!!! and flow not going to outlet (downstream)!!!!
Thanks Last edited by flow_CH; July 12, 2013 at 03:41. |

sounds connectivity problem.
can you post picture of velocity contour (with mesh) on this area?

sounds connectivity problem? What is that? I should say my continuity criteria for residuals is 0.001. I will send pics for you in private. |
