meshing 2D

Hi everyone,

is there something "special" one has to know before creating a 2D axis-symmetric mesh with ICEM, that will be read by Fluent?
everytime I try to import a 2D mesh in Fluent, it is not read.

thank you

ok, I found some answers here : http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ans...s-problem.html

I tried to cancel this post, but I don't know how.

2d axisymmetric mesh

good, because in fact, my problem is not solved as I thought it was :)

So I want to build a 2d axisymmetric mesh.
But there are nodes on my axis, and Fluent does not want.
How should I "declare" the axis in ICEM? just create a part named axis then, axis in boundary conditions? anything else to do? because doing this, I have a nice "Fluent received fatal signal" when trying to import the mesh in Fluent...
Should the "interior" part be periodic ?

thanks for any advice

2d flame

Hello,

I have worked on something else and I'm back with the 2d flame.
I have tried to do it with the ansys workbench, but Fluent does not read it. I have read somewhere on the forum if I remember, that one have to extrude the 2d geometry? why that? what will happen in ICEM for meshing and Fluent ?
