import many vertices into gambit bue not in normal way

hi
I'm working on some airfoils and i must create airfoil and this is awful to make a airfoil by gambit :(...however i heard that i can work with the file that has the Suffix ".jou"
anybody know that how is it working?or another way?

:)THANKS:)

is your airfoil 2d or 3d?

G340 August 19, 2013 03:31

my airfoils are 2D!

did you try to create edge from vertices?
http://aerojet.engr.ucdavis.edu/gamb...e_create_nurbs
Else you can create an edge with 2 vertices and so on..

You can always import CAD models in gambit. And yes it is possible with the journal file. But then you have to either write the journal file manually or make a program that created the journal file.

I try to change journal and i put my vertices coordinates like this file below...but it did not work!
and i also worked a little with solidwork and catia but i could not to do this work fast..however i want to learn it and i just make 10 airfoil that its take 2 hours!it doesnet matter i want to learn it...
Thanks

-mAx-
my friend you right but for nearly 15 airfoil that any have 50 vertices it is fuel time

are all 15 airfoils different, or same?

G340 August 19, 2013 04:05

they are different.

As vasava mentionned, you could handle it with journal, but it will ask lots of time.
(once you created your vertices, then you need to get edges, and surface)
I would create the 2d shape with cad package, and then import it in Gambit.

I suggest that first you try creating something simple with journal file. Make sure it works and also make sure you understand how the journal files work. Once you are confident then you can gradually change gears.

I also suggest you go through some gambit tutorials. Especially the ones that includes even the smallest step like creating edges and vertices. While doing so notice the message window. That's the way I learnt to write journal files.

All the best!!

thanks
it is hard but i search for it
i also heard that i can with Excel with gambit..i go to do it..if anyone know that help me
