boundary layer

Hi all,

I'm simulating a fully developed turbulent flow in a pipe of a non-Newtonian fluid. The turbulence model is the LS model, low Reynolds turbulence model. My doubt is related with the mesh, the geometry considered is a 2D geometry axisymmetric. I didn't perform the mesh with a boundary layer, but I'm testing a non-uniform mesh with y+ (first node) = 1. Do I need include a boundary layer?
Sorry for this question, but I'm really confuse....
