I am trying to apply edge parameters to a blunt TE of an airfoil. I created a C-grid around the airfoil and made the grid on the TE extend from the TE to the end of the domain.

Every time I try to change the number of nodes at the TE the number of nodes at the LE changes as well.

any ideas?

Oh, I see. Can you post some more pictures showing your blocking? I may be able to help you.

Regards,
César

I guess you did not delete the blocks inside the airfoil permanently. By deleting blocks not permanently they are added to the part VORFN. For blocks in VORFN no mesh or premesh will be generated. But they still exist in the logiacal structure of the mesh. That is why changes in numbers of node at TE also apply to LE. So a simple solution should be to delete these blocks permanently.

I'm not too sure what happened but I've redone everything and its all working now.

I'm new to ICEM so I've been trying to do this mesh for a while now with not many results, I'm mainly doing the same thing over and over again, messing around with settings etc in order to get a hang of meshing.

take a look at the video by simon. it may be able to help you giving you some ideas of block splitting and edge associations.

The video tutorial was helpful! After some frustration I'm getting the hang of ICEM meshing for airfoils.
