Hi,
I have a problem with imported geometry in Gambit. I unite volumes 97, 90 and 89. But I have this message: Command> volume unite volumes "volume.97" "volume.89" "volume.90" Uniting volumes volume.97, volume.89 and volume.90 ERROR: ACIS error 8030 : inconsistent face-body relationships Restoring the geometric model to the state before the current operation (if there is a positive number of default UNDO levels). Undone to: volume unite volumes "volume.97" "volume.89" "volume.90". How can I resolve this error? I have also reduce tolerance, no match. Same thing also in Ansys Workbench. https://www.dropbox.com/s/rkxzveumfapu8zb/volumes.zip |

by importing your igs file, I get only one volume.
Can you provide the dbs file with the 3 volumes you want to unite?

very qiuck:
if your geometry is symetric, you can half volume 97 and work on one side. The unite operation is ok from my side, if I choose a manual tolerance of 0.1 If you want to retrieve your full model you can reflect the half (and unite again...)

ok very quick (i have to go ):
You have 3 volumes: 2 are symetric. The other is not, and you have to cut it (in the middle). So create a big surface (rectangle) and split this volume with the rectangle (this plane should have dimensions higher than the volume) Once it is done, delete the part you don't need. Now you have one half of geometry, but you need to unite them. You can do it with manual tolerance 0.1. It will gave your some warning, but you can ignore them. If you are stucked, I will give you better description tomorrow
