Meshing of 2D cylinder / number of nodes

I have been trying to mesh a 2D cylinder configuration in ICEM (according to the following tutorial) and I want to make a denser mesh downstream of the cylinder.

I am thus trying to add more grid points on the downstream edge, compared to the upstream edge.

However, when selecting the downstream edge ("D" on the image) and increasing the number of points (without selecting "copy parameters on parallel edges"), the number of points automatically increases on the upstream edge ("U" on the image) as well.

Is there a way round to this?

The need to have the same number of nodes ! that copy to parallel edges does not mean it will copy the number of nodes ! it's about the node's law distribution...

delete inside block (aka solid) permanently.

thank you for your answers.

however, the inside block is already deleted.
any other way round to this?

could it be an issue of the way the curves are associated to the surrounding edges?

there is checkbox of delete permanently. Check that box and then delete inside block.
