Cgns

Can anyone tell me what are the limitations or rules for reading CGNS mesh file for strutured grid in a general-purpose solver.

At present we use CGNS 2.4 version.

The problem is many structured mesh (Made from ICEM CFD project files) fails to read in our solver. Error like Segmentation Violation or Tagging for interface is not proper keeps coming.

CGNS was largely developed by ICEM CFD developers...

But I don't know specifics about your problem. Have you tried another version (other than 2.4)?

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your reply. In the following link mentions that ICEM had some issue while creating mesh in higher version.

Also, I got my one particular problem solved. I have written about it as a reply to my one question in the following link.
[ICEM] Tagging Faces of block or converting faces of block into surface

At present by meshing properly, as per need of our code, now I am able to read some simple meshes by blocking. Actually when I made my own mesh from scratch, with help of one of my friend it worked out better. Earlier I was trying to download and edit already made project files.

One main problem which was coming, was CGNS mesh file was showing a zone having more than or less than 6 boundary/interface faces.

The important was proper tagging of boundaries, and proper association. I have at present made mesh over a 3-D cylinder. I may try out a few more complex 3-D geometry in few days.

Thank you.
