Hello Everyone.

I am searching for any way by which I can select multiple line easily. I have to make some model of 80m and there is 10 line per meter I have to select. I did the same for 60 m, 40 m and selected these line by pressing "ctrl" and selecting each line by clicking. It is very time consuming.

Is there any way that I can select multiple line without clicking every line? Please let me know if anyone has any idea about it.

Regards,
Tanjina

Thank you jrusten for replying. I am working on workbench and solving in fluent.

I just googled about "extend to limits", and got more confused. Could you please elaborate a bit?

Sorry

In either Designmodeler or Meshing, look for this:

Select an edge, the extend to limits. This will select all edges that are tangentially connected to this edge

Now it's clear !
Please check the attachment. I have to select --- line. If i select the edge, after using "extend the limit" it selects all the --- line. But I need - - - - ( line 1,3,5,7 or 2,4,6,8 line select). Is it possible in workbench meshing ?

No there is no way to do selections in that manner. I'm assuming all those edges are of equal length as well?

If the pipe is as simple as your picture, just a lot longer: What you could do is go back to designmodeler and create only a small part of the tube. If you create a named selection for each, lets say "odd" and "even", then create a translational pattern of this geometry section however many times you need to get the full length.. Then the named selections will follow the pattern and you will end up with one named selection with all the odd and one with all the even edges.

Dear Vidyanand and Jrunsten,

Both of your advice I tried and both works ! Thank you guys. For my case Jrunsten's method was more applicable except a small problem. ( please check the attached image) . I named - - - - -( 1,3,5,7 and 9 ) line. When I want to replicate it, it just add the 9 ,10 and 1 of next box, which I don't want. (I dont want to add 10 with 9 and 1). I want to be named the 1,3,5,7,9 of every box.

Is there any way that I can do this where 10 of one box will be separated from 1 of other box ?

Thank you guys a lot again. It was really helpful.
