Import airfoil SpaceClaim

1 Attachment(s)
Hello everyone!

I started working on Workbench a few days ago and my goal is to analyze an airfoil.
So my first step is to load the airfoil coordinates in SpaceClaim (I do not have DesignModeler). But it does not work. I have read many explanations on how to do it on the internet and they are all very clear. However it does not work, even though I am using (I think!) the proper format.

So I started investigating and I tried with only a few points of my airfoil. Here is my file:

3d=false
polyline=false
0,0 0,0
1,45291 2,033
2,08771 2,40706
2,83441 2,76827
3,69127 3,11559
4,65628 3,44792
5,7272 3,76414

The result is in the attached picture. I read the coordinates of the points and I have the feeling that SpaceClaim separates the figures through the commas. For example, one of my points has the coordinates (7272; 7641) which really looks like the last line of code...

(btw I also tried adding a "1" at the beginning of everyline to say that it is the curve number 1, but in this case, SpaceClaim would not even read the file and find an error instead at line 1)

Are you familiar with this problem? Your help is much appreciated :)

Hi All,

just in case anyone needs it:

It shows how to prepare the point data file :)

Hi teguhtf,

I think you're importing points without indicating ANSYS which values Z axis have. It's a common mistake when importing points from any .dat to several CAD programs.
