Hi,

I am working with 3D simulations of a Formula Student race car with mesh sizes of around 20 million cells in my domain. Since this is the maximum amount of cells I can afford with my personal laptop, and a mesh convergence study is time-consuming, I wish to make a 2D mesh convergence study of some cut plane of the 3D mesh.

Is there some way to extract the amount of cells shown when using the cut plane feature in ICEM? If so, I could use this information to make my 2D mesh.

Regards,

The last buttom in Cut Plane is "Create mesh subset". After that you may check number of cells by Info for specific subset.
