Hello guys

I have a weird problem with ICEM.
I have successfully managed to mesh the geometry I am working on.
However, when I try to reopen my project the mesh becomes distorted.

I have attached the geometry's image.

1) Firstly, I have done 2 vertical splits on the initial block.

2) After that, I have used O-grid method and with the help of merging vertex command, I have successfully created the boundary layer mesh.

As you can see in the second image called "beforeClosing-ICEM".

I have saved the project and the mesh file generated for fluent is completely OK. I have performed an initial simulation and everything is flawless.

Now, when I reopen my project in ICEM the weird problem happens, as you can see in the third image called "reOpen-ICEM"

Best wishes,
D. Khazaei

First, you want to rule out any simple errors e.g. forget saving, opening wrong .tin or blk file, exported the before mesh before last save,... . Also try to load and save each file separatly instead of project.

You can try to link the black edge to the wavy bottom edge. This forces the the linked edge to follow the shape of its source edge. I have only applied it to round edges yet, so I do not know of it works for this edge, too.

The error after loading the project might be a result of node merging. Actually you do not need ogrid and vertex merging for your displayed mesh. One split in horizontal direction should give you the same result.

raghav is on a distinguished road
If problem still persists, try:

Right Click - Premesh-> Project Edges

Let me know whether it worked or not..
