Meshing Minimal Surfaces, Inverted Elements

Hello,

i'm trying to generate a mesh (5 boundary layers containing prims and a core containing hexas) on a minimal surface, a Gyroid to be specific.
What i've done so far:

Imported the Geometry (.stl) and ran the Build Diagnostic Topology option with a Tolerance of 1e-12.
Deleted the points and concatenated the curves.
I set the parameters for meshing (Element Size, Number of Layer etc.) and activated the Auto Reduction option under Advanced Prism Meshing Parameters. After that i start computing the mesh.

The Problem: After importing the mesh to Comsol I'm getting the message that the mesh contains inverted elements (elements with negative volume?!)
The Geometry having very narrow areas seems to be a problem. Do you guys have any suggestions what could be done to avoid those inverted elements?
I've uploaded the project (just the geometry) to the dropbox (see link below). If you have any questions please feel free to ask! Since I'm running out of ideas I'm really looking forward to your suggestions! :)
