Hello all!
I am trying to mesh a Mercedes Mclaren model (3D) in ICEM CFD. I am using robust octree method and generating an unstructured mesh as of now. I will generate the prism mesh after this problem is fixed. After generating the mesh, I run check mesh under the edit mesh tab and get error on non manifold points. I thought about going in 2 ways after this. One was to ignore the error and import the mesh in fluent. When I did this, I got an error reading 1 cell has only wall faces and unfortunately fluent wont run with this error. When I tried to locate the cells with problems, I found a very poor quality mesh nearby areas where a curved surface (basically a fin) intersects with the engine hood. I have attached the images. I tried to reduced surface mesh size, node mesh size in this area but all in vain. I have already cleaned up my geometry using topology tab but still this one problem of cells with only wall faces persists. Its been over 2 weeks and I am not able to find the solution.
When I tried to fix non manifold vertices, ran check mesh again, I got errors in volume orientation and surface orientation and uncovered faces. Unfortunately the mesh worsened for Fluent.
Expecting a reply from someone!!!
