Hey Guys,
I having trouble getting my mesh to converge in Fluent. I have 1.6 Million nodes Determinant > 0.4 Min angle > 9 degrees Any suggestions I can make to the mesh? Thanks |

Hi Zak,
the min angle of 9 degree might be low, try to get closer to 45. I also would improve the change rate of cell sizes. I marked the edges in your screenshots which might need some improvement. A small cell next to a relatively bigger cell can lead to numerical instabilities if high gradients are in this area (had this issue a while ago). I would try to make the change of cell sizes a bit smoother. And another question, why is the mesh inside the canule aligned with the pipe's surface? Do you need the solid mesh? meshcheck1.jpgmeshcheck2.jpg And what about the outlet, is it far enough downstream? |
