Hi.
I'm meshing a complex geometry of a gas turbine combustor using ICEM. The mesh is composed by both the fluid and the solid parts.

I made the tetra mesh for the entire model (fluid and solid) but when I go to build the prism layers the latter are added also at the solid mesh (see the simplified figure in attach).
I defined the parameters of the prism layer at the surface that is the interface between the solid and fluid region, but I want that the solid wall doesn't contain the prism layers!!!
How can I fix this issue?

In the menu for selecting prism parts activate the volume part "fluid" as well. Check the ICEM manual for "compute prism mesh".

So, Have I to check both surface and fluid volume? It seems quite redundant!

You must put the check mark also to the part name of the volume mesh of the fluid side, and solid side must be unchecked. Marking none of the volumes will result in prisms in all of the volume parts that is adjacent to the marked surface.

Unfortunately, the problem is not solved yet.

Firstly, I create a tetra mesh, obtaining different domains (two solid walls and three fluid domains).
Now, I want to create the prism layers at the wall. When I'am going to create the prism layers, have I to click on "Replace" or "Merge"?

If I click on merge other domains overlap the previous ones.

Do you suggest to create simultaneously the tetra and the prism layers?

I have made a quick test and it does not work also in my case... The prisms are generated in both directions.

Actually now it works! A colleague of mine had created two bodies with the same name for the two solid volumes, but giving different names it has been fixed.
