Hi guys and gals,

I'm trying to properly mesh this attached geometry. It's a sort of pipe with a valve (seen as a sloped wall near the left corner). I want to capture the flow behavior near the wall and the valve due to boundary layers (velocity enters from the left), so I'm trying to make the mesh finer in those areas. Problem is, it only works near the wall, but doesn't work at all near the valve. I've tried everything, total thickness, first layer thickness, smooth transition... I've also changed the growth rate and number of layers quick a bit, but I always get the same result (see meshed picture).

Can anybody help??

Can you describe what you want to get, because seeing the meshed picture it seems to be ok... All the upper wall has inflation layers...

Make a zoom in the error area you want to solve

Best regards...

if you are trying to automatically inflate see the faces the program is going to inflate, by going to to mesh write clicking and go to show program inflatable faces, also try slicing the geometry to actually see from the inside which faces are being inflated, you dont need an inflation at the inlet faces but at the wall faces, hope i make sense

I'm attaching a picture of the geometry again. Notice there's a valve at the left entrance, which is supposed to resemble a human vein with pressure dominated valves (I've only built half the vein due to symmetry). As the blood flow enters the vein, it will form a boundary layer at the valves, as well as the walls.

I've created two inflation layers, one at the wall and one at the valve, but the one at the valve doesn't work.

I don't have the option to show inflatable faces... Probably because I don't use automatic inflation.
