import geo. and mesh from ICEM to workbench
 

Hi Everyone,

Please, is there a way to import the geometry and the mesh from ICEM to Workbench. Sorry I am quite new with workbench.

Yup, assuming you have version 15.0 or newer, check out the component system called "External Model". This system lets you attach meshes of various formats and then you can connect a mechanical system... You would have to write the mesh out of ICEM CFD in one of the formats that it accepts.

You could also trick it with "ICEM CFD interactive" within ANSYS Meshing, you just need to go into ICEM CFD interactive and then load your mesh. It is a bit more complicated because your mesh topology (including part names, etc.) must match the geometry in ICEM CFD interactive or it won't be able to reconnect the two when it sucks it back into ANSYS Meshing..

I employed this method to generate mesh, but when I done the mesh and come back to ANSYS Meshing, the mesh generation was not successful and the error as:
"MultiZone could not generate a valid mesh."
Do you have ideas about this? Could you tell me how to do this successful?
