Hi guys,

How to split block this in ICEM?

Thanks

I think you should make honeycomb structure around cylindrical holes.

Thats pretty good, is that done by one by one or is there a fast way?

I don't really know any fast way. Except your geometry is symmetric, so you may do one by one only part of your blocking then use copying, translation, rotation, maybe scripting

There is a fast way of doing it... Using Multizone option.. Even without reducing the geometry

um, I tried with that, but multizone is not robust always. And BFCart mesh is not as good as I want...

Ok. Robust in the sense of what?
And what is 'BF'cart mesh?
We have to do some work just like normal structured meshing... But blocking and splitting work is reduced!

Um. Body-fitted Cartesian mesh. ICEM can deal with this. But the quality is not good compared with Blocks.

S.. Agreeed.. But in some places it comes as a better alternative.. Like in case of top portion of shell and tube heat exchanger where the tube bends
