Meshing takes forever

Hello Ansys Experts,

I am trying to mesh my model using tetrahedrals method in patch independent mode. I left it for more than 12 hours and it was not generated on a machine with 64 cores and 512 GB RAM!!!!!!! The model is large but I don't think this is a reasonable time !!!

I did meshing for the model before using Cutcell method in about 3 hours (on a 12 cores and 32 GB RAM PC) and generated 10 million cells, but I want to change the meshing method because I have read that cutcell mesh doesn't go well with multiphase model (VOF)...

Any ideas here? What is the typical time required for meshing? What is the best method of meshing for VOF model??

Thanks,
Yousra

Maybe element size is too low? Try to generate coarse mesh first and then decrease element size gradually.

Very strange. Patch independent tetrahedrons must be fast and robust... Maybe there's another reason. Can you share your project?
