Hello everybody,

I have a problem, I hope you might have some useful hints for me.
  • Aim:
I want to simulate a certain Venturi nozzle with several inlets and a body in the center, in order to improve velocity and turbulence effects. The used fluids are going to be different gases. (For example like a Venturi gasmixer) - the geometry can be seen in P2 (see attachment) where the total model has been cut in order to make use of the rotational symmetry.
  • Procedure:
After creating a surface body in the CAD program and exporting as Parasolid, I want to read the .x_t-file in ICEM and mesh the geometry.
  • Failure/Problem:
When importing the file to ICEM, I have faulty surfaces, which do not fit the curves. To show this, please see P1 of the attached images. In order to get rid of the "extra surface" I tried to delete the faulty surface, and instead to create a simple surface with multiple curves (P3). The results where also not very satisfying - the created surface was created on the outside instead of filling the inside. I also receive the message "cannot create a nice fill".
Since I do not have very much experience with these faulty surfaces in ICEM, I have no more ideas, how to fix this. Thus I would really appreciate any kind of hints, that could make me repair the model. The created mesh, of course, is also broken and is not usable for further investigations.

Thank you in advance for your help - I hope anybody has had this kind of failure before (which I suggest) and has some solution.

Best regards,
Dave
