Hello all, I have some general questions regarding Hexa Multi Block Meshing in ICEM-CFD.
1. Take a rectangular object with one inlet and one outlet for example This body has 8 points, 12 curves and 6 surfaces . Now this can be meshed with a single 3d block. So i associate block edges to the body curves and then move the block vertices. Is it necessary to move the vertices to the body points?
2. Suppose the rectangular block is divided into two half and i want to mesh them separately(for some reason). So i would go on to split the block into two and then associate with respective body curves. Now do i have to create two surfaces or 1 surface or no surface at the intersect to complete the volume meshing?

Regards,

khedar

I think I have found the answer to my questions.
1. For 2-d meshing block edges have to be associated to the geometry curves for shell elements to form. For 3-d surface-face association does this. I am not sure about this but point and curve association are only needed based on specific application.
2. two interfaces are needed. This is to basically close both the regions/parts.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
