Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum and to CFD. I am doing a project which requires modelling of a ventilated disc brake. I am trying to mesh it in GAMBIT.

The geometry can be seen in my first attachment. I am basically trying to mesh the faces around the cooling vane using a mapped mesh as seen in the second attachment.

The problem is that when I try to mesh the volume, the mesh appears "draped" or curved, as seen in the third attachment.

I am really novice to GAMBIT so could someone please let me know if this means a problematic mesh or is it simply a visual issue?

Any help towards rectifying the situation would be greatly appreciated. I have been scratching my head with this for 3 days now and don't know how to proceed.

Thank you very much for your time,

Stamatis

PS. Could it be anything related to my geometry having fillets?
(i must not alter the geometry however...)
