Basic steps meshing an airfoil [ICEM]
Hi,
i just started working with Ansys ICEM, and my frist try is meshing an airfoil. I would like to ve a structured mesh, but actually i dont know whats the best way to do it. Could anyone give me some hints how to start? I would like to do it with a C grid, but dont know if this is the smartest way to do it. I already imported the profile and did the domain. But i m kind of lost how i should do the blocking with a C Grid Domain... I already did it with a rectangular domain, but when i want to do an O-grid around the airfoil i just get error msgs that it wasnt possible to generate it :/ So if somebody already did it, i would be pleased if u could give me some hints! A picture of the blocking would be great, since this is my biggest problem atm. Kind regards Peter |

Made a movie...
I made a "how to" movie about this, well three parts actually.
They are on the ANSYS YouTube site... http://www.youtube.com/ansysinc I know it is late, but I hope it helps... |

Any chance of hosting these on an FTP or some other venue? Some of us have to comply with our web filters :( |
Ftp...
Sure... Uploading now. It is a blind folder, so just combine the links (add the file name to the first part and then past into a browser)... I am keeping the links partial to prevent use by robots ;)
ftp://ftp.ansys.com/outgoing/simon/ and the files are... 2DAirfoil_1_Slides.avi 2DAirfoil_2_Setup.avi 2DAirfoil_3_Replay.avi |
