Hello,
Icem is always copying the settings to all parallel edges even so I have not clicked the item. Moreover the other edges are not parallel but heading only in the same direction and have a much higher distance in space than every tolerance criteria.
How can this happen? How can I delete the connection between edges or adjust that edges are not parallel?
The Blocking index and copying only to visible edges does not help either
Thanks for your replies

Do you mean it always copies the entire distribution or it always copies the mesh counts... Maybe attach an image so we can better understand what you are seeing.

You can adjust it to not copy the distribution or have it copy the distribution to visible edges...

But the count (number of nodes) always has to go thru.

You can also prevent edges from being parallel, say across a hole, by deleting the block in the hole permanently.

Anyway, I am sure we can sort you out, but I am not sure we understand the problem.

You understood what i have ment. But what is the reason for copying the count?
Is there anyway to supress it, because my problem is, that the parallel edges have different length and I donot want to cut the longer edge in two blocks.
Thank you very much Simon

The reason is that you are working with mapped blocks... by definition, the node counts on opposite sides of a mapped block must match (or it is not mapped). If you create a series of mapped blocks, each with this internal constraint and each connected, your end result is that all parallel connected blocks have equal counts.

If you want to break this chain, you can turn one of the blocks into a swept or unstructured block...

Or use a topology trick such as a Quarter Ogrid... I did this recently for another user with a similar problem...

I will come back in a minute with that link.

Check out this thread for info on how to use a quarter ogrid to solve your problem...
