How to import geomtry into ICEM?

Please help :) I'm constantly getting geomtry errors every time I try to import any geomtry file into ICEM, whether it be IGES, Design modeler, STEP etc.

In essence I'm told to look back at the geomtry even though it might just be a cube. what is the correct prcedure to import say from design modeler?

I think i sorted it by saving the DM file as .tin :)

Import Geometry

It should just be File => Import Geometry => Step/Iges or whatever... For Workbench Formats like DM, it is File => Import Geometry => Workbench Readers...

These work well for thousands of customers, so maybe you could be more specific about what the software is saying to you... Is it a license error? Perhaps it is missing files (install problem)?

I do not know what version of ICEM you are using, but back when I used 11 I had a problem with importing geometry: I would have to ensure a project was started (File->New Project) before it would let me import any geometry. It gave me some strange error if I had not started a project.

Forgot about that...

Thanks Ryne,

Oh yea, I forgot about that... We fixed that problem for 11.0.1...

Now it asks the user to create the project if they try to import geometry without one...

However, even when I said "no" it still imported the geometry correctly.
