how to examine the mesh quality
hi this is rahul working on gambit and fluent and i would like to know about that what is the criteria for examine the mesh quality in gambit and what is the minimum mesh quality.
thank you in advance
there is no rule, you can export a Mesh with high skewed elements, and run your job.
But with experience you will see, that convergence can ba affected by bad cells.
For me I would say
*skewness < 0.9 (for tetra)
*skewness < 0.8 (for hexa)
examining the mesh quality
once you\ve imported the *.msh to fluent, type in 'GRID quality' ,fluent will display the statistics of the your mesh.but sometimes you can get your ideal result with a relatively bad mesh quality!anyway a good mesh can help you save some time
