Hello!
I want to simulate coupled CFD & termo It is necessary that the boundary layer was only inside the vessel, but not inside the wall. The program builds a boundary layer on both sides of the wall Galk_t.jpg it is possible to make the boundary layer on one side of the wall? Galk_t1.jpg |

hi,
what is the "program"? Workbench-Meshing,CFX-Meshing? i would guess WB-Mesher.try not to use the automatic bl option. Name all the faces (IF_VESSEL and IF_WALL e.g.), than you can choose where to "grow" the bl from and to where (from the IF_VESSEL into the VESSEL_DOMAIN e.g) If you run the model like you have, you can get rid of the wall since there is only element above the height or is there any exterior changing with the flow direction? btw. try to avoid such high volume changes like you have at the bl now. neewbie |

hi,
i´m not very familiar with the tet-mesher. but 2 things are on my mind: -your symm plane (cyan) is part of the flow as of the solid domain, which means is one part, so i would recommend to put the faces in the appropriate part - create a bodypoint for the solid and fluid, so ICEM knows that they´re separate hope that might help you neewbie |

ok, thank you, neewbie
I solved the problem! First, we create auto tetra mesh without BL. Next, it's necessary to mark volume part, that need to get BL, except plane part wall1 Galk_t3.jpg result Galk_t4.jpg |

Right, just as you select which Surface Parts Prism grows from, you can select which volume parts prism grows into.
If you don't select any volume parts, the default is to grow prism into all the parts. But if you select any volume parts, it will only grow into the parts selected. Good job figuring that out... Simon |
