semi-circle meshing

Hello everybody

I need to mesh a semi-circle in GAMBIT 2.2.30 using only quad elements and mapped (canīt use PAVE because my UDF doesnīt work well with it).

Can anybody help my with the disposition of the vertex and edges to make it work? I know that I have to use 4 edged faces but using a square inside the circle isn`t helpful, at least by now.

Thaks for your help

why it is not helpful?

Hello,

Because I can mesh the square (face), but in the other faces GAMBIT complains about the number of elements, Iīve tried to alter the number of the edges elementes but still canīt mesh the other faces...

are the other faces mappable? (Gambit chooses automatically Map schema?)

No, the GAMBIT automatic options are elements:Quad; Type:tri primitive. But if I try to mesh with this option, an error mensage apear:

ERROR:number of intervals on meshed edges of face, does not allow mesching using de scheme of tri primitive.

If I use Type: map, GAMBIT mesh the face but with element quality value of 0.5, wich isnīt good because when I run FLUENT an error occurs due to mesh problems.

Enforce Map, as you did.
Mesh Quality (skewness) of 0.5 is good.
I don't think the problem comes from that

Is incredible but my UDF works with perfectly regular elements (Iīve tried it with just a square) but when I use it with some distort elements allways occur an error in FLUENT such as AMG solver. Iīve tried it whithout my UDF and FLUENT runs well so it lead me to think that is not a mesh problem, is actually the interaction between my UDF and the mesh...

Iīm going to use this mesh and see what happens!

Best regards, and thanks for you help
