simple mesh problem

dear all:
I'm new in Gambit modeling.
now I've obeyed all the tutorial told me to do in gambit tutorial 2.after I save my finished gambit file and then export mesh file.the console windows says:

export fluent5 "pipe.msh"
a default(unspecified) boundary entity was created.
continuum or boundary condition specified on entity (edge.8) is invalid for fluent 6

my .msh file haven't been exported.

could anyone tell me what can I do about it

Is it a 2D grid? If not, then you should be setting boundary conditions for faces, not edges. What boundary condition are you setting on that edge?

hello:

thanks for advance,I solved it by enable the "Exprot 2-D(x-y) Mesh"

but could you tell me why I must enable it in order to export msh,and what are the differences between enable/disable the buttom

thank you

If it's a 2D problem, then you need to export it as a 2D grid. In 2D, there aren't any cells in the z direction, which would give you problems if you tried to tried to solve it as 3D.
